Care Guide

Caring for Your Outrails Gear

Our gear is designed to repeat outdoor sessions—not repeat washing. One of the best things about Merino Active is that it naturally resists odor, meaning you can wear it longer and wash it less.

When to Wash

Your Outrails Merino doesn’t need a spin after every outing. We recommend washing it every 3–4 wears—or when something you want to forget happens. Between washes, just air it out for an hour or two.

Wool Rules (a.k.a. What Not to Do)

Skip the fabric softener, bleach, and enzyme-based detergents—they’ll mess with the natural structure of the wool. Never wash at high temperatures, and never tumble dry.

Machine Wash the Right Way

Turn your garment inside out, zip it up, and set your machine to a gentle wool or cold cycle (30°C or below). Use a mild detergent without enzymes or optical brighteners. And always check the care label—it’s there for a reason.
